ARoS was once again the most visited museum during K7 culture week
An impressive 11,908 young people visited ARoS during the nationwide K7 culture week – 27 per cent more than last year’s record.
From 7–13 September 2026, all young people aged 27 and under with a digital K7 pass could enjoy free admission to more than 250 museums and exhibition venues across Denmark.
“There is a truly special atmosphere at ARoS when the museum is filled with so many young people. K7 gives them the opportunity to explore art on their own terms, and their curiosity and engagement are wonderful to see. We are already looking forward to welcoming them back for next year’s K7,” says Museum Director Rebecca Matthews.
The week’s programme was developed in close collaboration with a group of young volunteers from Aarhus and featured a range of events and collaborations with local organisations, including Peech and Volume Village.
The highlight of the week was ARoS After Hours <3 K7 on Friday, 11 September. Visitors could take part in a poetry performance with Unge Danske Digtere, print designs on recycled T-shirts with the Danish Red Cross, experience a special sound work accompanying Twilight in As Seen Below, enjoy a concert by jazz band Purpur, and dance at a Silent Disco in Olafur Eliasson’s iconic Your rainbow panorama at the top of ARoS.
