ARoS Collection – World in Focus
About the exhibition
With artificial intelligence and a host of new ways to edit and manipulate images, the way we understand and use photography is being turned upside down. To reflect on these changes, ARoS presents the exhibition World in Focus with photographic works from ARoS' own art collection.
The exhibition explores how we use photography to understand the world around us and how photographers over the past 70 years have challenged our perception of the world and our understanding of objectivity and neutral representation.
You can look forward to seeing photographs by many different artists including Asger Jorn, Ismar Cirkinagic, Jeannette Ehlers, Jeremy Shaw, Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen and Liu Shiyuan, ranging from poetic and reflective works to violent and political messages. The exhibition also features newly acquired works that have not been exhibited before.
All the artists in the exhibition have an experimental approach to photography, and the exhibition shows how technique, composition and subject matter can make us experience the world in a new way.
