About the exhibition

The collection exhibitions are the heart of ARoS - where art meets you at eye level, whether you are a child, an adult, an expert or just curious about the world of art.

In 2026, ARoS opens its doors to new displays of the museum's collection on both Levels 6 and 8. Here, you’ll encounter beloved icons alongside newly acquired works from one of Denmark's most significant art collections. Discover the relevance of art history today – from the idyllic landscapes of the Danish Golden Age to contemporary video art that exposes societal taboos.

A comprehensive, reinterpretation of the museum’s collection opens up new ways to explore artistic movements, spotlight key works, and present art history through new perspectives to a broader audience. This unfolds within a radical and dynamic new exhibition architecture, where artworks and expressions can continuously shift in response to the changing world around us.

The collection exhibitions are curated by Jakob Vengberg Sevel in collaboration with Solo Solo.
