Your rainbow panorama is switched off at night

Alongside other institutions in Aarhus, ARoS is responding to the current energy crisis by finding ways to save energy.

ARoS is joining other institutions in Aarhus that are working to help the city reduce its energy consumption. In solidarity with the city’s efforts, Olafur Eliasson’s ‘Your Rainbow Panorama’ will be switched off at night. This means that the lighting in the artwork will be switched off at night from midnight to 6.00 am. This measure comes into effect today.

ARoS has been working strategically on sustainability on an ongoing basis. The museum is currently undertaking a major consultation process involving staff and external experts to identify opportunities to reduce, amongst other things, energy consumption – an area in which the museum is already well advanced from a technical perspective.

– At ARoS, we want to do everything we can to help tackle the current energy crisis and the wider transition. We have therefore already implemented several measures and are currently looking at further opportunities for optimisation across the entire museum,’ says Rebecca Matthews, Director of ARoS.
