“Tomorrow Is The Question” nominated for the Global Fine Art Award

For the second time, an ARoS exhibition has been nominated for the Global Fine Art Award (GFAA).

The first time was with the ARoS Triennial ‘The Garden – End of Times, Beginning of Times’, which won in the Best Public Art / Exhibition or Installation category two years ago; this time, the exhibition ‘Tomorrow is the Question’ is among the finalists in the Global Humanity category. A total of 99 exhibitions and art projects from 27 countries and institutions such as Tate Modern, the Centre Pompidou, the Van Gogh Museum and the Museum of Modern Art have been nominated across 13 categories. The winners will be announced on Monday 11 May at an online event on Facebook. This is the sixth time the global awards ceremony has been held.

- We are proud to have been nominated once again for a Global Fine Art Award. ‘Tomorrow is the Question’ was an important exhibition that focused on our shared future and on the challenges we face, including those relating to the climate crisis. Perhaps it is even more important today, as we find ourselves in the midst of the coronavirus crisis, because the works encouraged reflection on the state of the world and posed the questions that will help shape tomorrow, says Director Erlend G Høyersten, ARoS.

‘Tomorrow is the Question’ was created in collaboration between ARoS and Luise Faurschou, who heads the organisation ART 2030, which aims to link art with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. ART 2030 has been described by the international art platform artnet as the most ambitious art project ever.

- Art can help to discuss and raise awareness of the Sustainable Development Goals. ‘Tomorrow is the Question’ was an exhibition featuring exceptional works that helped to provide insight, offer hope and inspire us to take action, in the belief that, together, we have every opportunity to create a better future. I am therefore delighted that the exhibition has been nominated in the Global Humanity category, says curator Luise Faurschou, founder and director of Faurschou Art Resources & ART 2030.
