ARoS programme 2023

The spectacular Lucia procession is being revived when 50 children and young people sing in Christmas from ‘Your Rainbow Panorama’ on Tuesday 13 December.

After a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19, the whole of Aarhus can once again enjoy the popular Lucia procession. A total of 50 children and young people aged between 8 and 15 will take part, singing as they make their way from Level 3 of the museum up through the building to end at the top of ARoS in ‘Your rainbow panorama’.

– It is a great pleasure that we can once again ring in Christmas with the Lucia procession at ARoS. It has been a tradition for many years, and I am incredibly pleased that we can revive it this year. The interest in taking part has been overwhelming, and I hope that lots of people will enjoy watching the procession make its way around the museum,’ says Rebecca Matthews, Director of ARoS.

At 5.30 pm, the light will be carried forward. The route goes from Level 3, up to the café on Level 4 and up the spiral staircase to Level 8. From there, the procession will continue up to Olafur Eliasson’s *Your rainbow panorama*, where it can be enjoyed from the roof terrace and at street level. The event will finish at 6.15 pm.

The press will be granted access to *Your rainbow panorama* during the procession, whilst the public are invited to the roof terrace.
