You can access the artwork as a part of your visit to ARoS. As the installation is part of the ARoS collection, a standard museum ticket is required.

If you have booked a Twilight at sunrise or a sunset that begins outside the museum’s regular opening hours, you can enter As Seen Below via the entrance located beneath the elevated walkway at ARoS Art Square in Musikhusparken.

A Twilight at sunrise or sunset in As Seen Below lasts 37–64 minutes, depending on the time of year.

Doors open 30 minutes before the art experience begins. Please arrive in good time, and no later than 10 minutes before your session begins.

The shorter Colour Shifts, which take place every second hour during the museum’s opening hours, last about 20 minutes. These does not require reservation.

Your Twilight session is scheduled according to the exact time of sunrise or sunset on the given day. When booking your seat, you can find the exact time and duration of your experience.

During summer, Twilight at sunrise typically begins between 4:00 am and 6:30 am, while Twilight at sunset usually begins between 8:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
During winter, Twilight at sunrise typically begins between 6:00 am and 8:00 am, while Twilight at sunset begin between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm.

The doors open 30 minutes before a session begins. Please arrive in good time, and no later than 10 minutes before your Twilight at sunrise or sunset session starts.

The shorter Colour Shifts – which last around 20 minutes – take place every second hour during the museum’s opening hours. The first Colour Shift begins 30 minutes after the museum opens, typically at 9:30 am or 10:30 am. You can ask about the next Colour Shift at the Information or in the ARoS Butik.

The temperature in As Seen Below is roughly the same as outside, so it’s a good idea to check the weather forecast.

We recommend dressing as you would for other outdoor activities – and bring an extra warm sweater that you can quietly put on. 

For everyone's safety and to ensure a calm atmosphere inside the artwork, please make sure to arrive in good time for your Twilight session. 

If you arrive after a Twilight at sunrise or sunset, a guard at the entrance to As Seen Below will do their best to help you find an available seat.

We do not refund your ticket if you arrive late, but you can still use it as admission to the rest of the museum.

As Seen Below is part of the ARoS collection and is included with a standard museum admission ticket. If you wish to experience one of the special Twilights at sunrise or sunset, you will need to reserve a spot in advance. You can book your session here.

The shorter Colour Shifts take place every second hour during the museum's opening hours. They do not require a separate reservation, but they do require regular museum admission.

Unfortunately, our online booking system is unable to process cancellations. If you are unable to attend your booked Twilight session, we recommend passing your reservation on to a friend. Please note that they will also need either a museum admission ticket or an annual pass.

If this is not possible, you are welcome to visit the museum and speak to a member of staff at the Information Desk no later than the day before your scheduled Twilight experience. They will be happy to help you either reschedule your visit or arrange a refund for your ticket.

We release new reservation slots for Twilight sessions on an ongoing basis, allowing you to book up to three months in advance.

No, we carry out the scheduled Twilights at sunrise and sunset sessions regardless of the number of participants.

A Color Shift is a shorter light session of about 20 minutes in As Seen Below. During a Colour Shift, the domed space is enclosed by an exterior lid, meaning it's not the sky but the shifting light and colors that take center stage.

Colour Shifts take place every second hour during the museum’s opening hours and do not require reservation. The first session begins half an hour after the museum opens – typically at 9:30 am or 10:30 am. You can ask about the next scheduled Colour Shift at the Information or in the ARoS Butik.

Just as in the rest of the museum, children are warmly welcome in As Seen Below. The experience is calm and sensory – for both children and adults. You are welcome to bring your younger children into the artwork, but the experience is best suited for children who are able to sit relatively still in a quiet space with dimmed lighting.

For the special Twilights at sunrise and sunset, children must be able to remain silent for 40–60 minutes, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Access to As Seen Below is step-free, so you are welcome to bring a pram or stroller when the artwork is open without special lighting. Please be aware that the acoustics in the space can feel intense for very young children.

For the special Colour Shifts, as well as the Twilight sessions, we do not recommend bringing very young children.

Yes. As Seen Below is designed with accessibility in mind, and there is step-free access for wheelchair users and visitors with limited mobility. If you have specific needs, you are very welcome to contact us in advance so we can help plan your visit.

The light in As Seen Below changes gradually, and you will not experience sudden flashes. If you are light‑sensitive, have epilepsy, or have other health‑related concerns, we recommend consulting our staff before entering. You are always welcome to leave the artwork at any time if you need to.

Musikhusparken surrounding As Seen Below is open and accessible to everyone, but we kindly ask you not to climb, play, or spend time on the exterior of the artwork. The installation is designed so that visitors cannot get close to the aperture at the top.

We ask you — and all our other guests — to follow the signage and on‑site guidance so we can take care of our visitors, each other, and the artwork.

Yes. School classes, companies, and groups can book special sessions in As Seen Below. If you wish to book a light session or a guided tour for a school class, you can make a reservation at omvisning.aros.dk.
