The Dream about Denmark

The exhibition The Dream of Denmark shows large formats and epic motifs from the second half of the 19th century and asks the question "What is typically Danish?"

The question of Danishness is as relevant today as it was in the late 1800s. It was a time when Denmark was undergoing major political, economic and military changes. The Dream of Denmark focuses on the national liberal thoughts and ideas that flourished during this period and helped define our perception of Denmark and Danishness.
