Per Bak Jensen - Second Coming

The exhibition Genkomst consists of a series of brand new photographic works by Per Bak Jensen (b. 1949), created especially for the West Gallery at ARoS.

At first glance, the photographs show the Danish landscape "without filter": damp ploughed fields, a few branches sticking out of the snow, a lost tarpaulin from the farmer's tractor, an abandoned measuring stick by a patch of grass, a fast-moving stream. With this unsentimental gaze, Per Bak Jensen challenges the glossy images of the landscape tradition by giving nature back its substance.
