Cut Out Easter Letters for Boy at ARoS This Easter

Cut Out Easter Letters for Boy at ARoS This Easter

Mads Smidstrup, ARoS 2026

Join us this Easter, from 28 March to 6 April, when we will be cutting out giant Easter letters for ARoS’ iconic sculpture, Boy, going on Easter hunts among the museum's artworks, painting eggs and much more.

“Easter gives us an opportunity to delve into works in the ARoS collection that draw parallels to this traditional holiday. I look forward to bringing children, young people and adults together at the museum and inviting them to engage more closely with the art while using their creativity to make Easter letters and beautiful Easter eggs,” says museum director Rebecca Matthews.

Cut Out an Easter Letter for Boy
The whole family can join in as we cut out giant Easter letters measuring 80 x 80 cm and place them in Boy’s enormous postbox. When you send an Easter letter to Boy, you can enter a prize draw to win a DKK 500 gift card for Panduro®. Five lucky winners will be drawn after Easter.

Find Easter Motif’s in ARoS’ Artworks
Take your children by the hand and explore the artworks in ARoS’s collection exhibitions with our Easter art hunt. Among other things, you will be on the lookout for hares in a painting by P.S. Krøyer and counting chickens in a work by Wilhelm Marstrand.

During Easter, there will also be special guided tours for children and families every day at 10:30 a.m., all starting on Level 4. Together with our guides, you will explore the art at ARoS, with a special focus on the budding life of spring, light and the symbols of Easter.

The tours will be conducted at a leisurely pace so that everyone can participate, and there will be plenty of room for curiosity, questions and wonder.

Fly With Feathers and Compete in Egg Races
Follow the little Easter chicks down to Level 3, where we have put together a creative universe of Easter activities for the whole family.

Here, you can compete in egg races, decorate Easter eggs, or see who can keep a feather in the air the longest.

Art to Engage All the Senses
This Easter, you can experience a series of current exhibitions featuring world-class art. Discover the immersive exhibition Step Inside, presenting four installations by Pamela Rosenkranz, Laure Prouvost, Anicka Yi and Philippe Parreno, which incorporate sound, light, scent and movement.

You can also dive beneath the surface of the sea or challenge one another to a game of chess in Anna Boghiguian – The Sunken Boat, or step into a black hole in Cecilie Waagner Falkenstrøm’s work A Black Hole Calling Us, which has just opened at ARoS’ newly inaugurated outdoor art space, ARoS Art Square.

Practical Information
ARoS’ Easter activities are open to everyone from Saturday 28 March to Sunday 6 April, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and are free with an annual pass or upon payment of the museum admission fee.
