ARoS this Winter Holiday

ARoS this Winter Holiday

Join us as we roll a car into ARoS and give it a makeover with modelling clay, build balance beams with Stapelstein® and create enormous cardboard palaces during the winter holidays at ARoS from 7 to 15 February 2026.

"Winter holidays at ARoS is a week when the museum buzzes with creative joy. We love seeing children and adults immerse themselves together, letting their imaginations run free and discovering that art is something you create and experience with both your hands and your mind. This year, we are quite literally building an entire universe together in cardboard, modelling clay, and colorful stepping stones,” says Museum Director Rebecca Matthews.

 Play with Stapelstein®
In the ARoS Salon on Level 3, young visitors can unleash their joy of movement, stack challenging balance beams, and play with Stapelstein®’s characteristic stepping stones.

Build with Collective Paper Aesthetics
As an extension of the newly opened exhibition Step Inside on Level 1 – where the public can step into four large installation works – you are invited to help create a collective sculpture using hundreds of specially designed cardboard modules from Collective Paper Aesthetics. The sculpture will grow day by day as more people contribute.

Give a Škoda a Modelling-Clay Makeover
For older children, we have teamed up with Škoda to bring a real car into the museum – ready for everyone to design and decorate with colourful modelling clay.

“Many processes in the development of new cars are now digitalized. But not everything has been digitalized. Car designers still build full-size clay models of the cars to better evaluate the design,” says Head of Marketing of Škoda Denmark Sigrid Kamma Køhl, and adds:

“As part of introducing a new electric Škoda called Epiq, we thought it would be fun to unleash children’s creativity and imagination and let them use their hands and modeling clay to create their vision of the Škoda of the future. Starting with a Fabia – Škoda’s first compact car – as the base, the children can model on top of this car and create a new full-size Škoda.”
