ARoS Gives Annual Pass Holders Early Access to New Exhibitions

With ARoS’s first exhibition in 2026, the museum will introduce a new opening concept. Under this new model, annual pass holders will have the opportunity to experience exhibitions one day before the general public.

Until now, new exhibitions at ARoS have been marked by a preview evening open to everyone, with free admission to the entire museum on the night before an exhibition opens. This will now change, with exhibition openings divided into two events: an exclusive preview for annual pass holders two days before the official opening, followed by an open preview with free admission for everyone the day before.

“Our annual pass holders provide indispensable support to the museum, and we would like to acknowledge this. At the same time, we are pleased to continue opening our doors free of charge to everyone whenever we launch a major new exhibition. I look forward to welcoming even more enriching art experiences at ARoS in 2026,” says Museum Director Rebecca Matthews.

The exclusive previews for annual pass holders run from 5 to 8 p.m. and grant access to the pass holder and one or more guests, depending on the type of annual pass. During the evening, the museum offers a complimentary glass of wine, and guides will be present in the gallery to answer questions about the exhibition. The museum’s other exhibitions will remain open to regular visitors during this time.

“We are delighted to celebrate art together when we open new exhibitions, and the enthusiasm for our openings in recent years has been overwhelming, with sometimes more than 2,000 visitors in a single evening. With this new concept, we hope to create better conditions for everyone, ensuring an even more rewarding encounter with art,” says Head of Communication and Audience Astrid Søes Poulsen.

For the openings that are open to everyone, admission to the entire museum is free from 5 to 8 p.m. We offer a glass of wine the first hour and there will be speeches before the exhibition opens.
