ARoS joins the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower initiative

The Sunflower has arrived at ARoS to support and help guests with non-visible conditions or disabilities.

At ARoS, we place great importance on well-being and mental health, and we believe that art should be accessible to as many people as possible. That is why ARoS has joined the global Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, which helps children and adults who may need a little extra time, understanding or a helping hand.

Employees at the ARoS Butik, ARoS Café and ARoS Information, as well as our dedicated security team, have completed the Sunflower initiative’s digital training, equipping them to offer the best possible support to guests wearing the Sunflower lanyard.

The green Sunflower lanyards are available free of charge at ARoS Information for anyone who feels that wearing it is helpful – whether during their visit or after.

“Art offers space for human connection, reflection, inspiration, perspective and a break from everyday life. It is important for us to be part of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, so that we can ensure that all our guests can enjoy art in a safe and welcoming environment,” says museum director Rebecca Matthews.
